Sunlight Ascending, “All the Memories, All at Once”

The label, Future Recordings, describes the music of SUNLIGHT ASCENDING as an “explosive, dramatic eclipse… ambient avant garde instrumental post rock (from) California…” but your sonically centric host (me) would describe these gorgeous tracks as Nine swords of laser-bright odes to the big guitar bands of early 80s alternative: Chameleons, Echo and the Bunnymen, early U2. SUNLIGHT ASCENDING doesn’t necessarily re-invent the wheel but man they give a much-missed wheel a lush dreamy spin…

Here’s a sample track: REVERSE DRAGONS (which sounds like something my son might shout while engaged in pitched battle with a horde of his imaginary friends…

… and if you like what you hear you can download the full album and name your own price via bandcamp)
